All of our products are great for getting more girls interested in coding and STEM. They have fun and the success they achieve gives them the confidence that they can learn programming and tackle science and math. We include music, dance, drawing, and other activities to gain their initial interest, but then they discover that coding a robot can be fun. In our in-class and district-wide competitions it is often the girls who excel and win.
Colleges and businesses need more diversity in their engineering programs, and our products can help your school to encourage girls to start down the STEM path.
Our robots are great companions to the robots a school may already have in their robot clubs or other programs. The Exploring Robotics programs are designed to help develop interest, and bring in students who might not typically be drawn to robotics. They are a great augmentation to the FIRST programs because they add in background information and a new type of robot that students aren't used to. Students who go through our programs know more about robots and feel more comfortable at the FIRST events because of it. They can tell you how LEDs and motors work, create code for robots, diagnose electronics and programming issues, etc.
Many schools are looking for ways to teach STEM topics such as physics or physical sciences, math, programming, and other technology subjects. Our robots are great for that, and they get students to sign up for those classes. We choose robots that have educational value and have been proven to stand up to the abuse of classrooms, then we add self-study curriculum that allows a science, math, or technology teacher to teach the class. Schools use our curriculum with robots to create classes to introduce ALL students to programming, engineering, electronics, mechatronics, and technology topics. These classes then increase interest in other STEM related classes.
